Education

Building Learning can advise organisations on education at all stages of projects

Education Packs, Teacher Packs, Activity Sheets

Completed, conserved heritage projects may have education packs that for one reason or another are unsatisfactory. Everything dates: the school session 2007 - 2008 sees a new National Curriculum being rolled out in Scottish schools, A Curriculum for Excellence. Teachers arranging school visits will be extremely receptive to materials that will meet the four competencies that underpin the Curriculum for Excellence.

Education materials may become outdated for other reasons. Changes may have taken place in the project since completion, of scale, audience profile, conflicting or complimentary developments.

With recent "chalkface" experience as a Primary class teacher, Emma Griffiths is very familiar with the expectations of teachers, education management staff, and the range of materials which make a memorable and stimulating visit for school age children.

Planning For Education, Training and Community Outreach

If an educational visit is a distant dream, Building Learning can become involved with conservation projects at any stage from as early as HLF Project Development Grant application writing, advising on the whole range of training and education aspects of a project, through to drafting Training Plans for Stage 1 and 2 HLF applications. Complementing this knowledge of the education sector, Emma Griffiths has run the National Trust for Scotland's own building preservation trust, The Little Houses Improvement Scheme, and is familiar with the many, lengthy processes involved in securing the future of threatened buildings of architectural merit.
